Cook Islands Trading Corporation Ltd

CITC operates in the Cook Islands as an importer, distributor, wholesaler and retailer of a wide variety of products. Its principal premises are in the central business district of Avarua on the island of Rarotonga. CITC has over 300 staff.

CITC's basic business philosophy is to offer its customers a choice of top quality and affordable products, in each case based on value for money. CITC has itself become a brand on which customers rely on.

CITC is owned by the families of Trevor Clarke of Rarotonga (71.75%) and Donald McKegg of New Zealand (28.25%). The McKegg family first acquired an ownership interest in 1916. Trevor Clarkes interest was acquired in 1998. Previous minority shareholders of CITC have included Jardine Matheson of Hong Kong and LD Nathan & Co of New Zealand.

Trevor Clarke (a lawyer by profession) is Executive Chairman of CITC. His daughter Dianna Clarke Bates is also an executive director. Non-executive directors are Donald McKegg, Robin Bullen and Brian Mason.

General Manager of the Company is Gaye Whitta.

CITC's principal banker is ANZ Bank, Rarotonga. Its auditor is KPMG, Rarotonga.
